1
What is the process for enrolling in services, and is there a waitlist?
To begin enrollment at A Step Above, each individual undergoes a comprehensive assessment with our Program Director. This assessment gathers valuable information about the individual's strengths, needs, preferences, developmental and medical status, functional skill levels, and behavioral baseline. This personalized approach allows us to design programs that foster essential skills and attitudes for successful community integration. Following the assessment, an individual Service Plan (ISP) is created within 30 days of joining the program. The ISP outlines general goals, specific training, and support objectives aimed at promoting community integration. The plan is developed in collaboration with the individual, their legal guardian, and their Regional Center Service Coordinator. To learn more about the enrollment process and current availability, we encourage you to contact us.

How are family members kept informed about their loved one's progress?
Our staff actively keep daily progress notes to document each individual's activities, achievements, and any notable updates. To respect privacy and maintain confidentiality, these records are only shared with parent or guardian upon request. We are committed to providing accurate and meaningful updates to family members.
3
How often are program plans reviewed or updated to reflect individual progress?
Each individual's program plan is reviewed annually to assess their progress and revisit personal goals. During this review, our team works closely with the individual and their family to evaluate achievements, adjust goals as needed, and ensure that the plan remains aligned with their evolving needs and aspirations. This annual review process helps us provide consistent, personalized support throughout the year.

Transportation begins at 8:00 AM, with each individual assigned a specific pickup time based on their location. At the end of the program day, drop-offs begin at 2:00 PM, ensuring everyone returns home safely and efficiently.
